ATTOCK, July12: On Wednesday, a man drowned and a housewife committed suicide in two different parts of the district.  

Police sources informed Dawn that Zaheer Ahmed, a resident of Bhal Syedan village, drowned while bathing in a local mini-dam on Wednesday evening.

Later, Ahmed’s relatives, with the help of some local divers, fished out the body form the dam. Meanwhile in Bahtar village, the mother of four children committed suicide due to domestic dispute.

According to police sources, M.S. and S. Bibi were married some 17 years back, and had four children. Since then, there have been several family disputes between his wife and mother. On Wednesday, his wife and mother exchanged harsh words over a domestic issue as usual, leading S. Bibi to consume poisonous tablets. She died soon after.—Correspondent
