SIALKOT, Dec 16: The police have started inquiry into the alleged disgrace and torture of a lady councillor of Miani Union Council in Sadra Badra village by a landlord and his sons.

The district police officer has constituted two teams to ascertain the facts.

In an application to the chief minister, Nasim Akhtar had alleged that Muhammad Alam and his five sons disgraced, thrashed and forced her to walk naked in Sadra Badra village on Dec 7 over an election dispute. Taking notice, the chief minister ordered the Sialkot DPO to immediately arrest the accused.

Sialkot Saddar police claimed on Sunday to have arrested Chaudhry Alam, his sons Nawaz, Imran and Yousaf. They said raids were being conducted for the arrest of the other accused.

Nasim is a widow and mother of seven. It may be mentioned that most residents of Sadra Badi village, police officials, newsmen and Miani Union Council representatives said that they were not aware about the Dec 7 incident.

RECORD DAMAGED: Two patwaris and their eight accomplices damaged all record of the revenue department in the office of area patwar No 1 (Adalatgarha).

They also severely beat up patwari Waqar Ahmad when he resisted. Hajipura police registered a case against patwaris Zulfiqar and Nasar besides their unidentified accomplices with no arrest.

Anjuman Patwarian Sialkot district president Khwaja Wajid Ali, in a statement, has expressed grave concern over the incident and demanded immediate arrest of the accused.
