FAISALABAD, Dec 16: Buildings of 204 schools of district have been declared dangerous due to their dilapidated condition.

Education authorities in a SOS to the district government and other highups have demanded repair of these buildings to save the lives of over 50,000 students.

According to a source in the Education Department, cracks have appeared in walls and roofs of many classrooms. School heads have repeatedly reminded the education authorities about the deplorable condition of these buildings, but to no avail.

The office building of the deputy district education officer (female, elementary), Jaranwala, was also declared dangerous some 10 years ago.

Buildings of the following schools have been declared dangerous: government girls high schools of Chak Nos 105-RB, 102-RB, 76-RB, 58-RB, 109-RB, 205-RB, 74-RB, 53-RB, 211-RB, 206-RB, 75-RB, 77-RB, 99-RB, 98-RB and 95-RB; government girls Elementary schools of Islampura, D-Type Colony and Chak 89-GB; government girls high schools of Chak Nos 26-GB, 29-GB, 70-GB, 71-GB, 365-GB, 247-GB, 101-GB, 66-GB, 353-GB, 632-GB, 352-GB, 631-GB, 53-GB, 236-GB, 103-GB, 104-GB, 233-GB, 109-JB, Rasoolpura, Kaklanwala, 100-JB, 117-JB, 52-JB, 50-JB, 161-JB, 18-JB, 254-JB, 264-RB, 264-RB, 255-RB, 293-RB, 64-RB, 113-JB, 233-RB, 78-GB, 433-GB.

High and elementary schools with dilapidated buildings are situated in Chak Nos 245-RB, 16-JB, 44-JB, 20-JB, 56-JB, 186-JB, 3-JB, 119-JB, 7-JB, 20-JB, 57-JB, 158-RB, 161-RB, 132-RB, 146-RB, 153-RB, 160-RB, 186-RB, 268-RB, 269-RB, 133-GB, 541-JB, 612-GB, 452-GB, 549-GB and 488-GB.

The buildings of girls secondary schools, Karkhana Bazaar, Chak 192-RB, Nigehbanpura, Chak 122-JB, 113-JB, 24-JB, 126-RB, 133-RB, 139-RB, 247-RB, 258-RB, 72-RB, 191-RB, 196-RB, 100-RB, 118-GB, and Municipal Girls High School, Johar Public High School, Allama Iqbal Colony, and the Pakistan Model High School have also been declared dangerous.
