It’s good to know that someone as talented as Javed Bashir is now getting his due. A few years back he shot to fame as the lead singer of Mekaal Hasan Band, in case you don’t remember.

Now the singer has made it big and can be heard lending his voice to Indian movies. Javed B has sung a couple of songs for the latest Saif Ali Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer, Cocktail. One track in particular, Tera Naam Japdi Phiran, is a delight to listen to. It isn’t a solo number, but even with co-singers Nikhil D’Souza and Shefali Avairis, Javed B has managed to sound distinct and sonorous. Highly recommended!

One feels that Javed B is an underused singer even in Pakistan. The lad can belt out a tune, rest assured, and it’s because he is classically trained and has a decent voice. Way to go Javed B. Cut your own album.
