Saarc ENT moot begins today

LAHORE, Dec 15: The three-day Saarc ENT congress is starting in the city from Monday (today).

Governor Khalid Maqbool is expected to inaugurate the congress at a local hotel at 3.45pm. The congress has been based on the theme “Fight against deafness”.

A large number of delegates from Saarc countries besides World ENT Association secretary-general John Grotte from Holland, Prof Pawankar from Japan, Prof Kalan from London and Prof Zarzuk from Saudi Arabia have reached Lahore to attend the conference.

Federal Minister for Health Naseer Khan will preside over the concluding session on Tuesday, while Minister for Defence Rao Sikandar will preside over the concluding session on Wednesday.

Congress organizing secretary Dr Nasrullah Rana said that some 100 delegates will present their research papers during the four scientific sessions on various aspects of common ENT diseases like nasal allergies, soar throat, ear discharge and deafness in Saarc countries.
