KARACHI, Dec 15: As many as 8,000 candidates appeared in the written tests, held under the auspices of the Post Master General, southern Sindh, for the vacancies of postmen, packers and stamp vendors on Sunday.

Though the minimum qualification required for the posts of postmen was matriculation and of the packers middle class, a large number of candidates having up to graduation degrees were among those appeared in the test which were held in Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana, Khairpur, Nawabshah.

In Karachi, centres were established at D. J. Science College, Government College for Women, Nazimabad, NJV School, Government Girls Secondary School, Jacob Lines, GPO (city) and KPS School.

The test for the posts of postmen (grade BPS-5), packers (BPS 1-4) and stamp vendors have been held after a lapse of 12 years.
