Karachi Club and Airport Gym win

KARACHI, Nov 20: Two more matches were decided in the 16th Karachi Gymkhana Ramazan cricket tournament played Tuesday.

In the morning session Karachi Club beat Karachi Gymkhana Blues by 27 runs.

Put into bat after losing the toss, Karachi Club were in dire straits losing half their side for only 74 runs. But some resolute batting by Saad Salim (30) and Rehman Malik (29), enabled their team to reach 161 runs before bowled out in 24.3 overs.

Off-spinner Zeeshan Essa was easily the pick of the Karachi Gymkhana attack claiming four for 32.

Karachi Gymkhana Blues were bowled out for 134 runs in 24.5 overs.

Faraz Ahmed flighting his left-arm spinners for good measure, bagged four for 20.

In the second match played in the afternoon session, Airport Gymkhana beat S.S.G.C. by seven wickets.

Having first use of the wicket, S.S.G.C. were dismissed for 151 runs in 24.3 overs with Fahadullah (41), Saad Umer and Saeed Asif with 25 runs apiece contributing to the score.

Airport Gymkhana reached the winning target in 23.5 overs in scoring 152 for three.
