There was a time when the general perception was that actors who perform on television are brighter than those who work in films. Well, the line is getting blurrier by the minute.

Last week, on the Nadia Khan Show, while discussing Pakistani TV plays, there was this actor by the name of Azfar Rehman (yes, that’s his name, not to be confused with Azfar Ali, the host of Light on Hai) who was asked a question related to the subject under discussion. Azfar R emphatically told Nadia K that it took him not one, not two but 12 plays (produced or directed by some who was sitting close to him) to earn recognition in showbiz because there were already four or five actors who were dominant on TV screens. My o my, this guy must be really smart! He doesn’t believe in instant popularity and in the fact that if you are a good performer you could get noticed in five minutes and register with the audience. Not for Azfar Rehman. Yes, that’s his name.
