HYDERABAD, June 26: The Awami Tehrik will observe a day of protest across Sindh on July 1 to express concern over delay in arrests of the suspects behind an attack on a party rally in Karachi on May 22.
Anwar Soomro, secretary general of the Tehrik, at a news conference held the Pakistan People’s Party-led government responsible for the attack, which left at least 10 people dead.
He criticised Rehman Malik, the adviser on home affairs, for “objectionable remarks” against the rally. Mr Soomro said it was unfortunate that the government was a spectator to the “killing of Sindhis and the Baloch” in Karachi.
