MARDAN, June 23: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti on Saturday said lawmakers should serve people without discrimination as they’re voted to the assemblies for public service.

“Service of people should be above politics as they elect parliamentarians to resolve their problems,” he said during a ceremony held to inaugurate work on Hoti Playground here.

The playground to be spread over 42 kanals of land will be developed within six months at the cost of Rs65.274 million.

The chief minister said his government was committed to solving the problems of the people in the province and providing them with all possible facilities. He said a year ago, he had promised to develop the playground and was happy to see start of work on it.

Mr Hoti also said land for a graveyard had been acquired and 20 kanals of it would be allocated for the people of Gulibagh area and 40 kanals for those of Hoti area.

He said a wall was be built around the main nullah of Hoti area at the cost of Rs160 million to protect locals against flooding.

The chief minister said the government had allocated funds for construction of mosques and if people of Hoti area wanted money for the purpose, they should contact the respective committee.

People, including local elders and ANP workers, attended the ceremony in large numbers.
