PESHAWAR, Dec 14: The Chairman of the Implementation Tribunal for Newspaper Employees, Mr Justice Jawaid Nawaz Khan Gandapur, held court here on Thursday and heard various cases of newspaper employees.

In a complaint filed by Mansoor Mufti, former business manager of daily Ausaf at Peshawar, against daily Ausaf, the judge dismissed his petition and held that Labour Court was the proper forum for the complainant, as the issue raised by the petitioner had no concern with the implementation of the Wage Board Award.

In another case of daily Subh, published from Peshawar, the management was directed to produce letter of appointments of its employees on the next date of hearing.

Case of daily Mohasib, published from Abbottabad, was also on the cause list of the Tribunal. The presiding judge ordered the respondents to file the prescribed declaration form in accordance with the 7th Wage Board Award, announced under the Newspaper Emplo-yees (Conditions of Service), Act, 1973, for newspaper employees.

In the case of Ishtiaq Ahmed, a complainant against daily Din, Rawalpindi, Bureau at Peshawar, the respondent being absent till the close of court hours, whereafter the judge ordered issuance of non-bailable warrants of arrest.
