ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira on Wednesday urged the media to remain neutral and avoid dragging institutions into the Arslan Iftikhar and Malik Riaz case.

Talking to reporters outside the Parliament House, he said that the media had developed a 'habit of smelling conspiracies' in every issue.

"There is no question of clash of institutions," he said and added that the Parliament and democracy had nothing to do with the case of the two individuals.

He said efforts were underway to drag the institutions in the sub-judice case. "Let the court decide about the matter," he added.

"Vested interests are trying to drag the institutions in the issue," he said and added that the government respected the Supreme Court.

Replying to a question, he said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had blocked the passage of accountability bill in the National Assembly thrice. The government despite having majority in the House wants consensus passage of the accountability bill, he added.
