MITHI: Victimization alleged

Published December 14, 2002

MITHI, Dec 13: A large number of people of Thar, including Nazims, have expressed their concern over what they termed political victimization by the Arbabs.

They said that fake cases were being registered against the political opponents of powerful local persons.

Speaking at a news conference here on Friday, they accused Abdul Wahid, an ASI of the Nagarparkar police station, who had contested for the post of the tehsil Nazim, of harassing his political opponent and his supporters by registering seven cases against them.

Abdul Wahid was defeated by Abdul Ghani Khoso, who was elected as the tehsil Nazim.

They demanded of the authorities concerned to institute a judicial inquiry in this regard.

Those, who addressed the press conference, included, the taluka Nazim of Nagarparkar, Abdul Ghani Khoso, the Nazim of UC Harho, Abdul Raheem Khoso, and the others.
