Fashion designer Aeisha Varsey hosted a glamorous evening recently with the who’s who of showbiz and fashion in full attendance. The show is based on the concept of using some of TV’s leading actresses as models on the makeshift ramp-cum-red-carpet area. Veteran actresses Bushra Ansari, who is enjoying success once again in the wake of Dolly Ki Aayegi Baraat and its sequels, the indomitable Badar Khalil and Hina Dilpazeer (both can be seen in the ongoing Quddusi Saheb Ki Bewa), Seemi Pasha, Hina Bayat and film-TV actress-host Sana were dolled up in saris in striking patterns and embellishments using fabrics such as net, chiffon and georgettes. The collection will also be showcased in India, according to the designer.

Speaking about the concept behind the fashion presentation, the designer said that the main focus of the activity was to give these formidable women who hold sway over all things fashion and entertainment, and who usually play mothers on screen, a glamorous makeover that would transform the way people look at them.

The event also marked the opening of av de salon, an extension of the couture house that Aeisha Varsey operates from in Karachi. — Ali Khan
