LAHORE: Former Supreme Court Bar Association president Asma Jehangir said that Pakistan’s future will not be made by judges or people wearing khaki’s, but by the people.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Asma Jehangir said that she has been receiving threats to her life. She said that she had even tried to get in touch with Punjab chief minister’s assistant secretary about her security, but had not received any response.

Asma Jehangir said that she had spoken with President Zardari today, who asked about her situation.

She said that she told the president that if anything were to happen to her, then the government will be held responsible.

She stated that it was the governments responsibility to provide security for life and property of the people.
