RAWALPINDI, June 4: Nine people, among them six women, were killed and two others injured when a jeep plunged into a deep ravine at Baywer area near Kahuta on Monday afternoon.
The scene of the accident was not too far from the place where a bus carrying a wedding party fell into a ravine on Sunday night, killing 23 people.
Police said the jeep carrying 11 people was going to Kahuta village when it skidded off the road after its tie-rod broke and it fell into the ravine.
Seven people died at the spot and four others injured.
The injured were taken to hospitals where two of them died.
The body of a woman was shifted to the DHQ Hospital Rawalpindi and others were handed over to relatives. —Mohammad Asghar
