I AM a typical Pakistani and have a very subjective feeling about India.

Despite that when I watched famous film star Aamir Khan’s new TV show, it really moved me deeply, not because of the topics or the programme itself, but because of the hard work, research, theme and dedication of Indian media personnel.

There is a difference between imitating and inspiration. It does not matter where this inspiration is coming from as long as acting on it is beneficial for society at large.

No doubt, in Pakistan some individuals in the media are working very hard, especially on news channels and have a great impact. But disseminating a collective and uniform theme in a particular span of time on all news as well as on entertainment channels would be of great value. I would request our media associations to work on a policy and make it known to the public in which priority should be on positive Pakistani image by emphasising on values, education, sports, art and culture.

At present people’s expectations from the media is very high and media persons and houses must realise that they are in a position to make or break.
