ISLAMABAD, May 30: Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) on Wednesday held a protest against power loadshedding in the federal capital which had gone up to 10 hours a day.

Speaking to protesters, JI Punjab deputy chief Mian Aslam and Islamabad Traders Action Committee secretary Kashif Chaudhry said the champions of ‘Roti, Kapra, Makan’ had deprived people of their basic necessities. They said the unscheduled power breakdowns had also caused shortage of water.

The speakers alleged that the rulers were deliberately not producing electricity to the capacity and thereby bringing trade and business activities to the standstill. —Staff Reporter
