KARACHI, Dec 12: A demolition team of the Karachi Building Control Authority (KBCA), on the directive of chief controller of buildings, Brig A.S. Nasir, demolished on Thursday the upper floors of three buildings in the Bihar Muslim Cooperative Housing Society, and later sealed the buildings.

According to details, the illegally constructed 4th floor of a building on Plot No 143, Block-3, was completely demolished. The plot owner had illegally constructed the 3rd and 4th floors without the approval of the KBCA during the month of Ramazan, while the plan was approved for ground plus 2.

The KBCA team also pulled down the third floor of an under-construction building on plot No 174, Block-3, of the same society and the 3rd floor of another building on plot No 160. The KBCA will also demolish the second floor as the Authority had given approval for only ground plus first floor.

The KBCA has sent an application to the TPO of the Gulshan-i-Iqbal police station for registration of FIRs against the owners of the said buildings.—APP
