National electric power regulatory authority (Nepra) on Tuesday increased the tariff of electricity, second time in a week, by one rupee and ninety seven paisas per unit, DawnNews reported.

Nepra approved the revision of the tariff for the month of April in accordance with the monthly fuel price adjustment.The official notification of the revised tariff will be issued soon, sources said.

After the tariff raise, the additional amount of April's bill would be collected from the subscribers in the month of November, sources told.

The revised tariff notification will be applicable to all the electric supply companies of the country except for the Karachi electric supply corporation (KESC).

Moreover, the subscribers all over the country using less than 100 units would be exempted from this price raise.

Every month Nepra, after considering the monthly fuel price adjustment and analysing expenses of the electric supply companies, allows the increase or decrease in the electricity tariff.
