CHICAGO, May 26: The Mexican peso is weaker than it should be given the strength of the country’s economy, but the recent depreciation brought on by the turmoil in Europe’s financial markets is not cause for worry, Mexican Economy Minister Bruno Ferrari said on Friday.
“We don’t know what is going to happen with Europe, but this is something that I do believe will eventually arrive at the right level,” Ferrari said on the sidelines of the Expo Mexico Emprende in Chicago, a three-day conference aimed at promoting small businesses. “I feel cautious, but comfortable.”—Reuters
