LAHORE, May 22: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has praised the role of cable operators in the progress of the country and education of people on important issues.

Cable Operators Association of Pakistan Chairman Khalid Arain told a delegation here on Tuesday.

The Punjab home secretary, inspector general of police, Lahore commissioner, district coordination officer, capital city police officer and MPA Ramzan Bhatti were also present.

The chief minister took notice of the fact that eight cable operators had been murdered for not paying money to extortionists. He formed a committee consisting of the IG, Khwaja Imran Nazir, Malik Furqan and Khalid Arain to investigate the matter.
