LONDON: Stuart Broad has achieved a career-best position in the latest ICC Player Rankings released on Tuesday following his maiden 10-wicket haul in England's first Test victory over the West Indies.

The fast bowler has jumped to third place in the rankings - level with team-mate James Anderson - after recording figures of seven for 72 and four for 93 in England's five-wicket win at Lord's on Monday.

England off-spinner Graeme Swann drops one to fifth position on the list headed by South Africa's Dale Steyn.

In the rankings for Test batsmen, West Indies' Shivnarine Chanderpaul extended his advantage over South Africa's AB de Villiers after scores of of 87 not out and 91 in the defeat to England, for whom Ian Bell, in 17th, and Andrew Strauss, in 27th, have climbed the rankings.
