ISLAMABAD, May 20: Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan was accorded a warm welcome when he arrived here on Sunday on a three-day visit to Pakistan at the invitation of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.
He was received at the Chaklala Airbase by Minister for Capital Administration and Development Nazar Mohammad Gondal.
Mr Erdogan, who is leading a high-powered delegation, will hold talks on a range of important issues.
He will address a joint sitting of both houses of parliament on Monday, getting the rare honour of addressing parliament for the second time. It is the fifth visit of Prime Minister Erdogan to Pakistan.
Prime Minister Gilani addressed the Turkish parliament in December 2010.
Both the prime ministers will co-chair the second High Level Cooperation Council meeting of the two countries. The first meeting was held in Turkey in 2010.
Both the leaders will address a press conference after signing five agreements of cooperation between the two countries.
The Turkish prime minister will conclude his visit on Tuesday.—APP
