SAHIWAL, Dec 11: Chichawatni Sadar police on Wednesday arrested two Wapda linemen on charges of stealing transformers and wire.

During preliminary investigations, the accused confessed to their involvement in thefts of transformers and wire in Sahiwal, Pakpattan and Vehari.

BOYCOTT: Students of local educational institutions boycotted their classes and held protest rallies here on Wednesday.

Speaking at a protest rally, PLA president Dr Khalid Farooq and other leaders criticized the government decision to set up boards of governors in educational institutions. They alleged the government policy was against the poor people.

Speakers threatened to court arrests if the decision regarding BoGs and privatization was not withdrawn by the government.
