PESHAWAR, Dec 11: The Jamaat-i-Islami has constituted a parliamentary affairs committee to monitor performance of ministers, plan new projects and evolve guidelines for the NWFP government.

The Jamaat reviewed all such affairs at its meeting here at its provincial secretariat, Al Markaz-i-Islami, on Wednesday. NWFP Jamaat chief Prof Mohammad Ibrahim presided over the meeting.

The meeting decided that the body, headed by MNA Shabir Ahmad Khan, would maintain a check and balance system in the province and provide guidelines to the ministers concerned.

The meeting was informed that the Jamaat had devised a strategy at district level also and constituted committees to implement it. These bodies would also coordinate with the ministers.
