KARACHI, May 19: People in many areas of the city experienced on Saturday more than eight hours of electricity outages and unattended faults that especially disturbed students preparing for their intermediate examinations besides affecting city business activities.

The worst affected areas include North Karachi, Landhi, Malir, North Nazimabad, Nazimabad, Korangi, Orangi, Mehmoodabad, Jamshed Town, Gulistan-i-Jauhar and Sachal Goth.

Residents of an apartment building on Nishtar Road complained that they had been without electricity for the past several days as no one from the KESC attended to their complaints. There were also complaints about power fluctuations.

Electricity outages continued to affect the water supply in the city as in many areas water could not be pumped up due to loadshedding or fluctuations.
