National wrestling next month

LAHORE, Nov 19: Multan will host the National wrestling championship in the last week of December, announced Pakistan Wrestling Federation (PWF) Monday.

WAPDA will defend the title during the 3-day premier activity, said Chaudhary Muhammad Arif, Secretary,PWF.

He said an organising committee headed by Chaudhary Iftikhar Ahmad, DIG, Multan who is also the Vice President, PWF has been constituted to hold the championship in a befitting manner.

“In all seventy two grapplers from four Provinces, WAPDA, Pakistan Universities, Police, Railways and Army will display their talent and fight for glory,” he said.

Bouts will be held under the rules of international wrestling federation and eight weight categories 54ghs, 58kgs, 63kgs, 68kgs, 74kgs, 82kgs, 90kgs and above till 130 kgs will be contested.—APP
