CHITRAL, Dec 10: Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali, an MMA from Chitral, has said the MMA government will take action against all corrupt elements and recover every penny looted from the national exchequer.

Speaking at the meet the press programme at Chitral Press Club here on Tuesday, he said in the past, the politicians in league with the corrupt government officers, had looted the national resources widening the gap between the poor and the rich.

He said the days of the corrupt were numbered and as the elected representative of the people of Chitral it was his first and foremost duty to defend the poor from the corrupt.

Citing an example, he said the District Nazim shifted the bus stand to a remote place from the city just to gratify a man. Maulana Chitrali said in the past, the development works were initiated absolutely on political grounds neglecting certain areas.

Regarding the Lowari Tunnel project, Maulana Chitrali said he had been assured by the government that the work on the vital project would be inaugurated by March next. With this, the most cherished dream of Chitralis would come true which would liberate them from imprisonment, said Maulana Chitrali.
