KARACHI, May 6: The Jalaluddin Cricket Academy (JCA) has spent Rs7.4 million on developing the infrastructure of its premises, former Test paceman and head coach of the academy Jalaluddin revealed during the certificate and prize distribution ceremony of the JCA here the other day.

He said that the academy built in Zaman Town area of Korangi has been imparting coaching on scientific methods for the budding cricketers of Korangi and Landhi for the past few years. But more funds are required to upgrade the facility further, Jalaluddin added.

Sheikh Mohammad Afzal Khalid Umar, the Sindh Minister for Environment and Alternate Energy, who was the chief guest, distributed prizes and certificates among the trainees.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister lauded the set-up at the JCA and paid tribute to Jalaluddin for the promotion of cricket in the area. He promised to support academy’s training programme.

The chief guest was impressed with the JCA coaching set-up and said young players are getting coaching under qualified coaches in a safe environment.

Later the minister was shown the indoor cricket arena and cricket nets.
