SUKKUR: Strike observed in Thul

SUKKUR, Dec 10: The people observed complete strike on Monday against the deteriorating law and order situation in Thul town.

All shops and markets remained closed throughout the day.

A protest demonstration was also taken out for the second consecutive day against the killing of a school teacher, Liaqat Noonari, and the kidnapping of his brother, Shams Noonari, an employee of the health department.

The president of Shehri Ittehad, Maulana Ali Hussain, addressed the protest rally.

PPP MPA Sohrab Sarki and the president, Government School Teachers Association, Abdul Aziz, has alleged that the health department was involved in connivance with the criminals.

NAZIM HELD: The Kandhkot police arrested Bashir Ahmed Khoso, Nazim of Union Council 1, on Monday over his involvement in the killing of Liaqat Noonari and kidnapping of Shams Noonari.

The six Nazims of Kandhkot have condemned the Kandhkot police for wrongly involving Bashir in the killing of Liaqat Noonari.

They appealed to the IGP, Sindh, to institute a high-level inquiry into the incident and order the immediate release of Bashir Ahmed Khoso.
