Fixing CAA responsibility

WHILE the Bhoja Air plane flying to Islamabad from Karachi crashed a few kilometres from the Benazir International Airport, another passenger aircraft of Shaheen Air International escaped a major disaster at Karachi airport.

Its tyre burst while landing. The pilot managed a safe landing and the passengers remained safe.

Later, at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, another Shaheen airplane had to be brought back seconds before takeoff after it was found that it was leaking fuel.

It is now evident that the CAA is not performing its duties responsibly. That is the reason that these incidents are taking place.

The Federal Ombudsman and the Chief Justice of Pakistan should take notice of this negligence. It involves hundreds of innocent lives.

Painful ONE can hardly find words to express sorrow for victims of the recent Bhoja Air crash. My condolences to the families of victims.

It is painful that some persons were seen removing gold ornaments from the bodies and some young boys collecting cash and cellphones. This is gruesome.

The prime minister, chief ministers and all political leaders have condoled the deaths and shown sympathy for the families of victims, but these condolences and payments of compensation, if any, cannot be a substitute for the lives that have been lost.

Leaking fuel tank SHAHEEN Air International aircraft suffered a tyre burst during landing at the Karachi Jinnah International Airport.

In a second incident of Shaheen Air the fuel tank of the plane began to leak as it was about to take off from Lahore airport, forcing the pilot to apply brake before taking off.

Just imagine what could have happened in a second incident if the plane had taken off? We could have lost another 200 people.

I do not understand why the plane had been given a green signal to fly if it had a fuel leakage problem.

The authorities concerned seem to be doing nothing. Bhoja Air would also have been given a green signal to fly.

The authorities concerned should realise the fact that many planes used for domestic flights are too old to fly.

Major steps should be taken by the authorities concerned in order to safeguard people.

I dont understand why the media exaggerates so much and people are so gullible to accept whatever they say. First of all shaheen accident in Karachi was the result of pilot error he did a single point landing which means that all load of the aircraft put on the left landing gear. The aircraft had recently come from USA where it had undergone a complete overhaul and was in perfect condition. Secondly the incident Lahore was nothing every aircraft is equipped with fuel overflow vents from which the fuel overflows safely and this type of incident is very common in the aviation industry it needs to be avoided but does not pose any danger to the aircraft (It is called FUEL OVERFLOW NOT FUEL LEAK) the same aircraft was flying the next day (the media created panic and thats why the CAA had to come in and delayed the flight) and last the aircraft at Lahore had a maximum capacity of 120 people so i dont understand how people are saying that there were 200 passengers.
