LARKANA, Dec 9: The People’s Party Parliamentarians will consider the demands of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal if it disclosed the points that brought it closer to the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) for government formation in Balochistan.

President of the PPP Sindh Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said this while talking to newsmen here the other day.

Ruling out the possibility of outright acceptance of all the 27 points fielded by the MMA, Khuhro said that talks to arrive at an agreement over minimum points would continue.

When asked about the names of the PPP nominees regarding the election of speaker and a deputy speaker of the provincial assembly, he said that the party’s parliamentary boar would soon meet and the names of the nominees would then be announced.

Discounting the rumours regarding the PPP’s efforts to hammer out a clandestine deal with the PML (Q), he said that if any political party or group was lending support to the PPPP it would be welcomed and termed it a good omen.

He said that dialogue with MMA had been initiated only after receiving a green signal from the party’s leadership.

Declining to term the stand of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement a deadlock, Khuhro said that the nomination of candidates for the post of chief minister was quite in line with the democratic values.

Khuhro maintained that there was no need to seek support of a particular political party as the PPPP had opened its doors for dialogue with every group or party.

Expressing his optimism, he said that he expected positive outcome in the light of talks which had been held so far with different parties.

He said that all efforts to impose a Jam Sadiq-like government in Sindh would be vehemently opposed by the PPP.
