DADU, Dec 9: The federal minister for industries and production, Liaquat Ali Khan Jatoi, on Monday expressed optimism regarding formation of a government in Sindh by the Pakistan Muslim League (Q).
Speaking at the Shahani House, Jatoi said that the PML (Q), like the government in the Centre, would form a government in Sindh with the support of other political allies.
He expressed his dismay over non-payment of salaries to the employees of some taluka municipal committees and union councils, saying that these employees had been deprived of their salaries for the past many months.
Jatoi urged officials of the district governments, specially the Nazims, to solve the problems faced by people and employees on a priority basis.
Later, several delegations of lawyers, doctors and representatives of different NGOs called on the minister.
The minister assured them of resolving their problems.
CLASH: Ten Jaheja tribesmen were injured in an armed clash over land distribution in Bubak village near Sehwan town on Monday.
The injured have been identified as Jan Mohammad, Bakhshal, Qadir Bakhsh, Faheem, Khabar, Ghulam Qadir, Ghulam Haider, Kadin, Jumo, and Mureed Jaheja were injured. They are being treated at the Taluka Hospital, Sehwan.
ACCIDENT: Two persons were killed on Monday after being hit by a Dadu-bound coach near Sher Khan Kalhoro village.
Iqbal Ahmed Kalhoro, 17, and Ghulam Haider Kalhoro, 40, were both on their way to their village when they were hit by the passenger coach on the Dadu-Phulji station link road.
The Phulji station town police have impounded the coach but the driver of the coach managed to escape.
DEMONSTRATION: Syed tribesmen of the Dadu taluka staged a demonstration outside the local press club here on Monday to protest against the Jacobabad district administration.
Prominent among the protesters were the taluka Nazim, Dadu, Syed Zafar Ali Shah, the district president of the Syed Welfare Association, Syed Bachal Shah, and the UC Nazim of the Dadu town, Syed Hussain Shah.
Later, speaking at a press conference they criticized the police for not apprehending the killers of the vice president of the Sindh Syed Welfare Association and a PPP leader, Syed Anwar Shah, who was shot dead about a month ago in front of the DCO’s office in Jacobabad.
They threatened to launch a Sindh-wide protest campaign if the Jacobabad police did not arrest Anwar Shah’s killers immediately.
