ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing pertaining to former law minister Babar Awan’s contempt of court case until Thursday, DawnNews reported.
A two-member bench of the apex court, comprising of Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan and Justice Athar Saeed, heard the case to frame a contempt of court charge against Awan for his media jibe against the judiciary.
Awan’s controversial statements came after a Supreme Court order appointed Tariq Khosa to investigate the memo scandal.
Tuesday’s proceeding was adjourned due to the absence of Awan’s attorney Ali Zafar from the court.
Awan was present at the court but avoided giving statements in the absence of his attorney.
He pleaded the Supreme Court to adjourn the case’s hearing.
The hearing was subsequently adjourned until Thursday.
