KARACHI: The second edition of Pakistan Champions Cricket League will explode into action under lights at the RLCA Ground Korangi from May 20, the organisers announced at a news conference here on Friday.

“Lucrative prize money of $35,000 will be at the offer in the league,” Sindh Minister for Youth Affairs Faisal Sabzwari told reporters at a hotel here.

“Besides top local clubs from across the country, teams from Afghanistan Canada, Sharjah, Saudi Arabia would also be seen in action,” he added.

Apart from Karachi, prominent club outfits from Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Sialkot, Fata, Hyderabad, Burewala, Peshawar, Rahim Yar Khan, Abbottabad, Faisalabad and Multan would feature in the league.

Faisal added that efforts were underway to get club teams from Bangladesh participate in the event.

Winners of the league will receive $20,000, runners-up $10,000 and losing semi-finalists $2000 each, he said, adding the prize money may be increased.—APP
