
QUETTA: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Friday said Balochistan problems can not be resolved by military operations.
Speaking at a large public gathering at Ayub stadium here, he vowed to find out political solution to maintain law and order situation in the province.
He said once the PTI comes to power it would demolish Governor Houses and big palaces and establish educational institutions there.
Instead of using Frontier Corps (FC) policing system would be improved, he added.
To give people their rights a system would be brought at a lower level instead of MNAs and MPAs so that resources could be provided to the villages.
“To end terrorism we have to leave this American war,” said the PTI chief. “Muslims would never bow their heads before anyone nor do they believe in slavery,” he added. Rulers in Balochistan spent Rs 110 billion obtained under NFC award for their ministers and still there was no sign of development in any part of Balochistan, he said.
The public gathering was also addressed by party’s president Javaid Hashmi, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Azam Swati, Khursheed Mahmood Kasuri, Justice (R ) Wajeehuddin, president women wing Fauzia Kasuri and others.
Khan said the PTI ‘tsunami’ has reached Quetta.
He said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif was mainly responsible for present state of affairs in Balochistan because he was also included in the All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM.)
He said that the party’s stance on Balochistan and the country was very clear but Nawaz Sharif participated in elections against the spirit of APDM and which is responsible for the worsening situation of the country.
He said army action was conducted three times in the province but situation became worse instead.
He said no issue can be resolved thorough military operations. Had there been solution of problem by using force, the US would have been successful in Iraq and Afghanistan and India in Kashmir, he added.
He said soon after coming to power, Tehrik-i-Insaf would pay much more attention on Balochistan. A special fund collected from other provinces, would be spent on people of this province.
He said Balochistan is the richest province as far as natural resources are concerned but due to inaptness and corruption of the current rulers it has become the poorest province.
The PTI chief vowed to break the atmosphere of fear in the province. He said big walls and barb wires have been deployed at the houses of Governors and rulers for fear of people. Had they given justice to them situation would not had been the same today, he added.
After coming to power, we would demolish these big walls and palaces of the rulers and build educational institutions and libraries at these palaces.
He said the PTI had raised voice for missing persons including Dr Afia Siddiqi and Amir Hamza.
Khan said that promises he has made would be fulfilled soon after coming to power and killers of Nawab Akber Bugti and accused of mutilated dead bodies would be brought to justice.
He said the present government did not arrest killers of their leader Benazir Bhutto. “Tehrik-i-Insaf will take on this responsibility and will arrest killers of the late PPP leader,” he added.
Moreover, the party chief said that an impartial system of policing would be implemented for improving law and order situation in Quetta and Karachi so that killers of innocent people are arrested.
