ISLAMABAD: US Coordinator on Civilian Assistance to Pakistan, Ambassador Robin Raphael called on Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar on Wednesday evening at the Foreign Office.

Talking to her, Foreign Minister Khar said the recently concluded parliamentary process had proved that institutions in Pakistan were working in accordance with aspirations of the people of Pakistan.

She said 180 million people of Pakistan had spoken unanimously through Parliament which was a great achievement.

Hina Rabbani Khar said there was a need to ensure that relations between Pakistan-US were reset in line with the parliamentary recommendations and that respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan was maintained.

Ambassador Raphael said that the US respected the parliamentary process and looking forward to re-engaging with Pakistan on mutually beneficial terms.

She reiterated US commitment to assist Pakistan in the energy sector as well as other areas of socioeconomic development.

She agreed with the foreign minister on the need to develop a partnership approach on the basis of mutual interest and mutual respect.
