Recent sectarian tensions in Gilgit prompted many weekend demonstrations by Shia community of Canada. These protests rallies were held in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver, London, Victoria, Surrey, Richmond, Winnipeg, Saskatoon and Hamilton.  In Toronto a big rally was held in front of the Pakistani consulate against the target killing of the Shia community members of Pakistan and terrorist activities that includes bomb blast on the holy places  & processions of the Shia community in Pakistan.

Near the Pakistani Consulate in Vancouver, outside the Art Gallery in downtown of Vancouver hundreds Shia Muslims took the streets over the weekend to protest these heinous crimes against Shia members. - Photos by Mohsin Abbas and Khurshid Kazmi/DiversityReporter.com
