KARACHI: Britisher held with heroin

KARACHI, Nov 19: The Customs Drug Enforcement Cell on Monday arrested a British national for smuggling 1.5 kilograms of heroin at the airport.

Customs official said the officials of the drug enforcement cell intercepted a Pakistan-born British passenger, Nadeem Ahmed, at the departure hall of the airport when he reported to the counter to board Emirates Airlines flight EK-603 for Birmingham via Dubai.

A search of his baggage led to the recovery of 1.5 kilograms of heroin powder concealed in the false side walls of his suitcase. The alleged drug trafficker was arrested under the Control of Narcotics Substances Act 1997.
