Saudi stance on Iraq hailed

LAHORE, Dec 8: Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadith Amir Prof Sajid Mir has hailed Saudi Arabia for its courageous stance on Iraq issue, saying it will send a new wave of awareness among the Ummat.

Speaking at an Eid Milan, he said had Gen Musharraf not surrendered before Washington on Afghan issue the United States would not have got a free hand to terrorize the whole Ummat.

Saying Pakistan had been deeply damaged during the current army rule, he deplored that Gen Musharraf was giving guarantees to the US over nuclear programme which is the sole protector of the Islamic world after Allah.

Prof Mir believed that had the Nawaz Sharif government not ousted Pakistan would have been a leader of the Islamic world.

He feared that if Gen Musharraf did not give up serving the United States, Pakistan would become the next target of Washington in its so-called war on terror.

Earlier delivering Eid sermon at Jamia Rahmania, MJAH spokesman Muhammad Amjad Ajmal said the Muslim world could not truly enjoy Eid since long as various Islamic countries were falling to the oppression of Christians, Jews and Hindus one by one.

Urging the Muslim rulers to give up their insensitivity towards problems faced by the Ummat, he said only unity of the Islamic world could restore its grandeur and prosperity.

He said it was necessary to end general’s rule in Pakistan so that the country could get rid of the slavery of Washington.
