QUETTA Dec 8: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Jam Mohammed Yousuf has expressed displeasure over growing incidents of burglaries, robberies, car, and motorcycle lifting and snatching in different parts of the province and directed Nazimeen and other officials concerned for taking strict measures to check such illegal activities.

In a statement, he said these incidents shook public confidence in the law enforcement agencies. He said the police, which was responsible for protecting the lives and property of common citizens, should discharge their obligations in a responsible manner.

He said that from now on, the SHO concerned would be responsible for incidents of theft and robbery. He also urged the Nazimeen to play their role in checking such incidents.

Mir Jam Mohammed Yousuf has also directed the government officials to bring positive change in their attitude in line with the democratic culture.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said if the officials did not respect the opinion and suggestions of the assembly members, the present government wielding public mandate would be forced to take stern action against them.

He said the installation of an elected government was a step forward towards sovereignty of the people and therefore, nobody would be allowed to work against the public mandate. He said he had taken notice of the improper attitude of the government officials and reminded them that they were public servants and hence should respect people’s mandate.—APP
