Public transporters

ISLAMABAD, April 8: Following the surge in fuel prices, the transporters in twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad have started overcharging without any increase in the fares announced by the authorities concerned.

It has been observed that the transporters have also started violation of the routes and fleecing the commuters at will. Some commuters, who were waiting at Faizabad bus stop, have said the transporters charge excessive fare and do not abide fare list.

They said most of the transporters operate vehicles on gas but they charge fare according to the petrol or diesel prices.

Sameer Khan, a commuter, said the authorities should adjust the fares according to the gas prices as most of the transporters use gas in their vehicles.— APP
