RAWALPINDI: A plane carrying Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, cabinet ministers and senior leaders of the Pakistan Peoples Party made an emergency landing in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.

The PM’s aircraft had taken off for Sukkur from Chaklala air base in the garrison town, when it had to make an emergency landing due to technical problems.

Federal ministers, including Manzoor Wattoo, Firdous Ashiq Awan and Governor Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Masood Kausar were also present in the plane.

After the quick emergency landing, the PM and his accompanying passengers resumed their journey to Sukkur in another aircraft.

From Sukkur, the prime minister will travel to Larkana and Naudero, where he will address a session of the Central Executive Committee of the PPP and be part of the events commemorating the death anniversary of party founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. –DawnNews
