Funds for sewerage schemes released

SADIQABAD, Dec 5: All resources will be mobilized to alleviate poverty.

This was stated by district Nazim Makhdoom Syed Ahmad Mahmood after inaugurating sewerage schemes for the Pakistan Colony and Rahimabad.

He said funds for the schemes would be released from the additional grant of Rs6 million provided by the government.

Speaking on the occasion, tehsil Nazim Haji Murad Dahir said work on development projects in the tehsil worth Rs15 million was in progress.

MNA Jehangir Tareen said Khanpur city was one of the most neglected areas. He thanked the district Nazim who sanctioned Rs20 million for the development of Khanpur.

Earlier, union council Nazim Malik Abdul Rahman pointed out the problems being faced by the residents and demanded provision of gas.

BIKE SNATCHED: Noor Ahmad was deprived of his motorcycle near Iqbal Nagar by three gunmen when he was going to Jamal Din Wali.

It is the fourth vehicle snatching incident in as many days in the area. Residents of the area have expressed grave concern over the rise in crime.
