Cases against Ulema withdrawn

PESHAWAR, Dec 5: The government has withdrawn 140 cases registered against Ulema and others in all the districts of the NWFP.

These cases were registered under 188, 153, 149, 148 PPC, Cr.Pc and 16 Maintenance of Public order Ordinance for participation in protests during the Afghan crises.

Most of these cases were under investigation or pending trial in the courts. —APP
