KARACHI, March 29: The Pharma Bureau, a representative body of multinational pharmaceutical companies in Pakistan, has welcomed government’s decision to establish a centralised Drug Regulatory Authority through a Presidential Ordinance and praised appointment of an interim CEO of the body.

In a statement issued here, the Pharma Bureau stated expressed the hope that the authority would play an important role in framing a policy and addressing all matters pertaining to the pharma sector.

The bureau’s top management held a meeting with the authority’s CEO Syed Arshad Ali in Islamabad. Asif Jooma, Chairman, Pharma Bureau, Abdul Majid CEO Pfizer, Tariq Wajid CEO Sanofi Aventis, Shahab Rizvi CEO Novartis and Dr Sadia Moazam, Executive Director.
