ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Tuesday said that he will come to Karachi and analyze the security situation of the city, DawnNews reported.

The interior minister has demanded a 24-hour deadline to restore the peace of the city.

“A committee has been formed to investigate the murder of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) worker Mansoor Mukhtar,” Malik added.

Speaking to the media representatives outside the Parliament House in Islamabad, interior minister said that extortion and target killings in Karachi had been brought to a halt but these activities have again erupted in the metropolis.

“The perpetrators of the crimes involving targeted killings and extortion would face the legal implications on non-discriminatory basis,” Malik assured.
