DADU: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif on Monday said that his party would win seats from Sindh in the coming polls and serve people of the province well.
Addressing a rally at Mehar town, he said during its last tenure his party ended the “dacoit-raj” from the province. Criticising the sitting government, he said the lives of Sindhi people were much better four years ago.
He said the government has given the gifts of poverty, price hike, unemployment and load shedding. “Should I congratulate the regime for all of this,” he added.
The PML-N chief said law and order situation in Karachi is in shambles and innocent people are killed daily, but the government is not taking any action against the criminals and terrorists.
When the rally participants chanted slogans “Go Zardari Go”, he said now it was time for “Come PML-N Come” slogans.
He said he joined hands with President Asif Ali Zardari for the sake of Pakistani masses, but no results achieved. He said for him people of Sindh or Punjab are the same and he had same pain for their problems.
Sharif vowed that his party would continue to extend help to rain and flood survivors of the province.
Meanwhile, Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan threatened to launch a countrywide protest if the issue of power outage was not resolved within 48 hours.
Speaking at the joint sitting of the Parliament, he said the PML-N would continue to protest in the Parliament as well as on the streets to press its demands.
He said the consumers, particularly the industrial sector and the business community, were hit hard by the continuous blackouts in the country.
Referring to the tragic death of acid burn victim Fakhra Yunus , Nisar said that no one had raised voice to provide justice to her. There is a need to implement laws on human rights and protection of women to prevent such incidents in future.
He said that the Parliament should take serious notice of the issue and the culprit involved in the heinous crime be taken to task.
Nisar also called for more facilities to journalists covering proceedings of the Parliament.
