ISLAMABAD, Nov 19: The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended on November 15 for income group up to Rs3,000 has registered 0.86 per cent increase over previous week.

In terms of percentage change, the SPI for the week was recorded at 105.51 as against 104.61 recorded in the previous week, according to the Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS).

The data regarding price movements comprises 52 essential items including 5 items of utilities.

During the week, average prices of 8 items decreased; while average prices of 15 items increased; and those of 28 items prices remained unchanged.

The items which registered decrease in their average prices during the week under review included rice irri-6, sugar, gur, lawn, masoor pulse, rice basmati (broken), mash pulse and gram pulse.

The items which registered increase in their average prices during the week under review included tomatoes, onions, eggs, red chillies (powdered), vegetable ghee (loose), bananas, mustard oil, potatoes, wheat, chicken farm, garlic, kerosene, bath soap, wheat flour and moong pulse.

While the items with no change in their prices during the week under review included beef, mutton, bread (plain) m.s., milk fresh, milk powdered (Nido), curd, veg. ghee (tin), cooking oil, salt powdered, tea, tea (prepared), cooked beef (plate), cooked dal (plate), cigarettes (K-2), coarse latha, voil printed, shirting, sandal gents (Bata), sandal ladies (Bata), chappal sponge (Bata), firewood, elect. bulb (60 watt), match box, washing soap, gas charges 100 cm, elect. charges, petrol and telephone charges.

Meanwhile, the SPI with base 1990-91 for the lowest income group up to Rs1,500 (47 essential items) for the week ended on November 15 has also recorded an increase of 0.57 per cent over previous week.

In terms of percentage change, the SPI for the week was recorded at 248.40 as against 247.11 recorded in the previous week.—APP
